Metal flow behaviour and processing maps of high heat resistant steel during hot compression

This article reports the flow stress behaviour of ASTM A335 P92 steel. Uniaxial isothermal compression experiments were conducted to examine hot deformation steel in a Gleeble® 3500 thermal–mechanical simulator. The test conditions 0.01–10 s−1 strain rate and 850–1000 ℃ temperature. Constitutive equations processing maps developed used describe process. results showed that stress–strain curves exhibited dynamic recovery (DRV) as dominant softening mechanism. decreased with an increase temperature or decrease rate. Using Arrhenius equation, exponent activation energy values 8.0 kJ.mol−1 487.56 kJ.mol−1, respectively. correlation between constructed microstructure optimal process parameters occurred at lower region 0.1 temperatures 900–950 1000 for investigated.
